The Salazar family is reaching out to the community for assistance. My sister, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar mania, is currently in a treatment facility. The doctors think that a group home would be able to get her back on track with her medication and on her feet again. We don’t have the funds to pay for the service of a group home, which is $800/month for rent and $200 for food. The hard part is medical care cost. Representing the family here, we are looking at a 90-day program that can be extended. We just need help coming up with the funds to do so. Treatment cost for schizophrenia is costly. Medications are expensive for schizophrenia. In the state of texas does not have the greatest reputation for people with mental illnesses who are financially struggling. She has been struggling with her diagnosis since 2012. She was strong for years and maintained her job as a CNA. She has four beautiful children.We love Crystal so much that we have reached out to ask and plead for assistance in getting her the help she really needs. Any little bit will help . update: we were unable to come up with fund in time to get her into a group home. She is safe and stable for now. We are reviewing options for her to continue outpatient treatments and all donations will be set aside to fund her recovery to being able to get back on her feet and secure long term mental health support.

update 2: we have secured a new provider for mental health. Still working on securing regular therapy sessions. Still securing medical PCP near her current location.

update 3. She has received medication. Working on funding for next dose and evaluation to work towards potentially getting her back into employment over the next few months. She is being housed and provided with a safe environment to begin a fresh start during her recovery.
