Join Us in Christy Borck's Recovery

On Friday August 7th, Christy was the victim of a gunshot wound to the right side of her head and Left shoulder.  She was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore where she underwent a lifesaving emergency surgery to relieve the pressure in her brain due to the swelling and bleeding.  Prior to surgery she was able to follow commands.  She had a second surgery that afternoon to create a skin flap and graft skin to her scalp to close the wound.  After surgery she was sedated for pain and comfort.  Her vital signs have been stable.  We are unsure of what her neurological outcome will be assuming she survives. 

Christy’s 3 children (Kira 13, Sanibel 4 and Liam 2) were home at the time of the event.  None witnessed the event or were injured themselves.  They were taken safely from the home by their grandfather Paul.  Damien 17, Christy’s stepson was not home at the time of the event.
