Join Us in Cevin’s Battle Against MPAL Leukemia
Donation protected
On May 13, 2021 my husband, Cevin Myers, was diagnosed with MPAL (Mixed phenotype acute leukemia) which is a very rare type of leukemia where more than one type of leukemia occurs at the same time. In Cevin's case, he has both acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML). Currently, Cevin is only 1 of 4 patients getting treated for this type of leukemia at MD Anderson. Since his diagnosis it has been impossible for him to work due to both the cancer and aggressive treatment. By the grace of God, Cevin has overcome many challenges and hardships throughout his life even becoming a Pastor, Minister and Evangulist. Like the Apostle Paul, Cevin just wants to finish the race and keep fighting the good fight. But as we all know, having cancer comes at a high price. Being that Cevin was a pastor for 14 years, he did not qualify for disability through social security. Therefore, we are literally surviving off of one income. It is not easy. Unfortunately, we have exhausted all of our finances fighting this disease and we are still facing the bone marrow transplant and the long road to recovery ahead.
As it has been explained to us by his care team, he's looking at another year in his journey for recovery. Currently I am the only one that's able to work, but we are coming to the point in his treatment where I won't be able to work as I will become his full-time caretaker until the doctors say that his immune system and health is stable enough for me to return work. Bone marrow transplant is no easy feat, but we serve a mighty God!
So now we come to you, the body of Christ, for financial assistance in the year ahead to help Cevin to continue to fight this disease and finish the race. We appreciate any amounts that you can help with to the defray the costs associated with his fight. No amount is too small.
Thank you all and God bless!
