Join Us in Caleb Garcia's Fight for Mobility

My name is Michele Garcia, on June 5th, my son Caleb Garcia was riding his bike on Hwy. 111 and was hit by a car. My son was hit so hard he flew @30 ft into the air and landed in cars windshield. Its a miracle my son is alive. His injuries he has sustained are extensive:

-Broken Neck

-3, 4, 5 vertebrae fractured with the 5 vertebrae pushed against his spinal cord

-Broken Right shoulder

-Broken Right Arm

-Right Leg has 3 Fractures

-Right Ankle Fracture

-Slight head blead

-Numerous abrasions

-Stitches to his right eye and head

Caleb has been on ventilator, they performed tracheotomy and has a feeding tube.

Caleb is unable to speak, but able to get attention from family and nurses by clicking his tongue and mouthing his words.

As of today, Caleb still does not have any movement in his hands are arms, he feels slight sensation with NO mobility.

Caleb is able to rock his leg once in awhile but doctors have informed us that they believe he will be paralyzed from waist down.

Last Wednesday and Friday he went into cardiac arrest and nurses "Thank You God" and nurses Saved my son.

Yesterday, I received call from nurse Calebs heart was dropping and was erratic through the night. Today Caleb is having a pacemaker put in for his heart.

Due to his extensive injuries, once he is stable and can breathe on his own. Caleb will need to go to a Long Term Acute Hospital for physical therapy rehab. Doctors advised Caleb will have a long road ahead of him.

I have went through the list of hospitals his insurance will cover and here in the Coachella Valley reviews are horrible.

So, I found a hospital for him that is @2 hours away. They have an extensive great physical therapy reviews and have a hotel across the street. I want the best care for him, he's unable to talk, and has no movement of his lower extremities. I could not imagine what he is going through. He has no memory of incident and woke up to not being able to do anything but lay there. He can't buzz in for nurse assistant, he can't call me anymore, and with this he is going into a depression.

My son Caleb, is an amazing big hearted man, he has the most humble and kindest soul, his smile brightens up a room, extemely smart and talented. Caleb would give the shirt off his back for anyone.

Those who know my family, know how much Love we have and how close we are. I am asking for help, to be able to visit my son and spend weekends with him. Being so far away, his depression is also a concern. They are hoping he will learn how to talk again, and once he does I would like to make sure he has phone, electronics, that he can speak to, to operate. At this point his insurance has covered everything.

Caleb has a long journey ahead of him. Please pray for him...
