You know it takes a village, and we’re asking for your help.
In May 2023, Felicia had melanoma removed from her leg. By wintertime, she fell and broke some ribs while cleaning and had a spot on her lung discovered while being X-rayed and was monitored with scans.
In May of this year, they found tumors in her brain. The doctors removed two, and she started radiation and immunotherapy.
As we all know, Felicia has been a ray of sunshine, believing that she is going to beat this. The last week of August, she and Brian decided to go visit her oldest friend, Terry Green, down in Texas for a fishing event. The day of the fishing tournament, she didn’t feel well, so she opted to stay home while the rest went out on the water and fished all day. When they got back, she was asking questions about things that she should have known and wondered where her hair went.
On the 30th of August, they headed home via car. As Brian got closer to KC, he noticed that she was not appearing quite right, so he rushed her to KU Medical Center, where they put her in ICU. They induced a medical coma to keep her calm and let the brain reduce in swelling from what has now been determined as an infection.
On September 3, they pulled the tube out of her throat and slowly reduced medication to bring her out of the medical coma.
As with all medical predictions, the result of her seizures is yet to be determined and how it will affect her in the long run. It is a wait-and-see situation.
The family is asking for prayers for a full restoration of her health, a rebound, even a miracle so to speak. Felicia, who’s been a ray of sunshine, needs all the positive healing energy, prayers, whatever your jam is, to radiate back at her right now tenfold. She is alert and can follow movements in the room with her eyes and recognizes her family. That is wonderful progress; however, it’s slow.
Her devoted and loving husband, Brian, has not left her side since their arrival at KU Medical Center last Friday.
No one has prepared themselves for suddenly not having an income because their spouse needs 24-hour care, so we’re asking if you can find it in your heart and please send a donation directly to:
Tori Findley to her home via mail, Venmo, or through GoFundMe.
Also, we are aware some of you have already been very generous and want to thank you for your thoughtfulness as it has helped with unexpected expenses immensely.
