Hello my name is Ruby Burton and I am raising funds for my husband Brian, and now I will tell you our story. We have been married for 28 years and we have two children and two grandchildren that we think the sun rises and sets on them. About three months ago Brian started complaining about his stomach hurting and had said he felt like maybe he was constipated so we did the usual things that you would do to take care of the problem at home. I called GI consultants and made an appointment for him for a colonoscopy. He had to wait about 45 days before they could bring him into the office. We did his prep and we went in and they sent us home stating his system was not completely cleared out so they sent us home with more prep supplies and we went back the next day only to find out that they couldn't do a colonoscopy because he has a large tumor that has almost overtaken his bowel. The Dr. had a terrible bedside manner and just walked into the room and said I'm sorry, you have colon cancer! Three weeks ago our world was completely shattered when my husband was diagnosed with a rare form of colon cancer (we thought.) I drove him 16 hours to MD Anderson in Houston TX for a true diagnosis and after all kinds of testing his Dr. said he had rectal cancer and he needed immediate surgery to reroute his bowel so he has an colostomy bag in place now but when we got the rest of the test results back they showed that he also has metastatic stomach cancer. We have to stay in Houston for a couple more weeks for him to heal up and take a meeting with the oncologist to find out the game plan for his chemotherapy and such. He will be having his treatment mostly in Knoxville but there is still a lot of travel involved and expenses so if you can donate thank you in advance!! If not , please pray for him and our family. If you would like to donate you can pm me or my Venmo information is @Ruby-Burton-3
Thank you again,
The Burton family
