UPDATE:

Hi everyone, this is Ashley. Just wanted to provide a quick update on Tyler’s recovery as I know many people are asking.

Tyler has lost vision in his right eye, it will not be coming back despite any surgical intervention. He will need a prosthetic or cap in the future. His leg is healing great, still not weight bearing until at least December but after physical therapy will be back to normal.

His facial fractures are what’s going to be addressed next. Our first ENT/plastic surgery appt is November 22nd (as long as this storm stays away) and we’re hoping surgery will be scheduled shortly after in the future. He has many fractures so there will be a bit of a recovery after that but we’re hoping it’s only going to be one surgery, we’ll see. I will post another update after that appointment or the surgery.

We can’t believe the outpouring of love and support and generosity. Our thank you will never be enough but thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We wouldn’t be where we are without all of your unwavering support and encouragement for Tyler’s recovery.

My brother, Tyler, was recently involved in a serious car accident that left him with severe and life altering injuries. Tyler has always been there for others in their time of need, as he was helping with cleanup from the hurricane moments before this accident. He is currently in the ICU and is in urgent need of multiple surgeries to recover from this traumatic incident. The medical expenses will be overwhelming, and our family will struggle to cover the costs of his treatment, hospital stay, and recovery.

Tyler is a hardworking and compassionate individual. Most of you know Tyler from his chair business, Saltwater Destination, which the hurricane has dramatically impacted. Tyler was also in the process of becoming a commercial pilot, and this will be a devastating trial as he has some ocular involvement with facial trauma.

Now, Tyler needs our help more than ever. The road to recovery will be long and challenging, and we want to ensure that he receives the best possible care without worrying about the financial burden.
