My beloved best friend Debi (Devi) Blye is in a health crisis and needs her friends and family, and even caring strangers, to help. She was rushed to the hospital and has now been transferred to a skilled nursing home in her community of San Jose.
Devi has been quietly dealing with a Parkinson’s diagnosis for years, not wanting to worry anyone or gain sympathy. She has endured brain surgeries and heavy-duty mind-altering medication, but now the disease has taken a turn for the worse. She is down to 80 lbs and can no longer walk on her own. No one knows how long she will need to be hospitalized. Medicare will only cover the first 20 days, then there is a $210 per day copay for Devi. There are other mounting bills as well.
As a result of this health emergency, her 2 small dogs have been left home alone for the last 2 weeks, with a kindly neighbor checking on them. Devi’s cousin, step-mom, and I have teamed up and are desperately looking for a foster or adoption situation.
In addition, Debi has other needs. We would like to hire a cleaning service to help restore her house in hopes that she can return to it. Her computer has died, so we need to replace it in order to access her online bills to get them paid. Devi is also hoping that we can sell her car to help with funding. It’s quite overwhelming how much needs to be done.
If you are in a position to help Devi, any amount of money or if you have time to join us in helping Debi will be appreciated. ❤️
