Just look at that adorable family!
As many of you know, Britta has faced many health challenges throughout her life. She has been dealing with severe left hip pain for over a year now. At her first physical therapy appointment, the therapist told her that she would need surgery. She tried to avoid it by completing physical therapy and trying steroid injections, yet it has still come back to her needing this repair surgery. Britta’s family, work, and basic quality of life have been affected by her torn labrum and bone spurs in the hip joint. Her surgery is scheduled for August 5th.
Finally, now at her eighth surgery in the past 10 years, she’s letting me (a neighbor and friend) set up some fundraising to help their family out. I know that Nate, Britta, Hayden, and Codi are loved and surrounded by generous people who will appreciate the chance to help them out this Fall.
Our goal is $7,000! $4,000 of it will be going toward meeting her out-of-pocket maximum for insurance coverage, and $3,000 will be to help bridge the gap due to lost work time for her and a week off work for Nate, who is self-employed.
Britta won’t be able to do any weight-bearing activities for at least 6 weeks, and will be able to slowly work back to standing and walking, with a projected date of going back to work the first week of November. If you know her, you know she already can’t wait to be up and around again, renovating a house, hiking, making fancy coffees, chasing the kids around, and gardening.
So, send what you can!
We also have a Meal Train set up where you can sign up to bring her family meals, as well as volunteer to drive her to appointments! https://mealtrain.com/lvr6ww
