Familia ISLNDZ,
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news from São Vicente. Our deepest prayers go out to all the families and loved ones affected.
*UPDATE from São Vicente*
We donated our entire inventory of clothing products in São Vicente to be distributed to the people in need. Our partner Tiago and friends in Mindelo have been on the ground receiving many food and clothing donations. They have been out nonstop from morning till late making sure they can deliver supplies to displaced families in need. With this gofundme the funds are going straight to the people in need, we want to be able to support many more families in remote areas where not much support has been able to get to them. To have an immediate impact we are focusing now on purchasing food, hygienic products, mattresses, water; basic and essential products for families in need. Our contacts in land are receiving hundreds of calls of people in need and hopefully we can get to everyone. It has been a collective effort of many independent local groups and individuals that has helped a lot so far! Next for us is to reach the town of Salamansa, on the north part of the island where help has been very scarce and they suffered a lot from the storm and floods. We are proud to be part of this small but strong community and hope to keep helping! Thank you to everyone!
Additional solutions and actions to help ease the losses for those impacted:
• We want to use part of this GoFundMe to work with local authorities to assist in rebuilding where it's needed most.
• In partnership with @cvassociationofboston, we are accepting donations of non-perishable items and clothing at 242 Bowdoin St, Dorchester from 10 AM – 5 PM.
• ISLNDZ will be donating 10% of all future sales to support local organizations aiding the victims.
We encourage everyone to share this message and bring awareness to the cause so together, we can reach more people and make a real difference.
— ISLNDZ
