If you're a fan of the Allman Brothers Band, or American rock music in general, you might be interested in becoming a much-needed participant in an important music history preservation project.
When we think of the Allman Brothers' origins, we most likely think of Macon, GA, or Jacksonville, FL. But the truth is, Gregg and Duane began their groundbreaking musical journey in Daytona Beach, where they developed the iconic sound that would become a pioneering force in Southern Rock.
Spearheaded by Daytona journalist Dan Smith and filmmaker/blues musician John Fusco, the City of Daytona will finally have a historical monument to the Brothers Allman, erected on the Daytona boardwalk near the bandshell.
With your help, this beautiful and long overdue music history marker will be unveiled during Daytona's sesquicentennial celebration in the summer of 2026. No donation is too small, and we hope that you, as a proud donor, will attend the unveiling and historic Allman's music celebration on Daytona Beach.
The Road Goes on Forever...
But it all started in Daytona.
