Help with Malachi’s accumulated and final expenses

We desperately need your love prayers and support for Maria and Malachai!

As a lot of you know Malachi had his 3rd open heart surgery in July due to mitral valve issues. At his re-check on Sept 19th it was found that despite the surgery his heart was still struggling greatly from GDC (genetic dilated

cardiomyopathy)

He was born with this rare condition and it is, in the doctors words “rearing its ugly head" This is a separate issue from the mitral valve that was replaced. Despite his small frame his heart just is not strong enough to support his body.

Malachi ended up in the ICU earlier this week and his heart is greatly compromised. He is under a pediatric cardiac doctor’s care at Duke. Although they are not 100% sure what to do, at this time. Duke has been amazing and thorough with many tests and scans to make sure they don’t miss anything.

He has been put on medications to reduce fluid in his body and others to strengthen his heart. Doctors are concerned about sickness and infection and if he doesn’t respond to the medication he may need a heart transplant.

This has also caused his other organs to struggle too. His liver is a big concern and now is at risk as well. The doctors are giving more time for Malachi’s body to respond to the medicines before making a final decision on next steps.

Prayers are powerful and coupled with the doctor’s care have led to Malachi condition stabilizing this afternoon.

Finances are also a big concern as the hospital stay and Malachi’s condition continues. Maria is a single mom and through this scary and difficult time, has been and will continue to be out of work to care for Malachi and be by his side.
