Join Trenton's Fight: Overcoming Cancer and Stroke

Donation protected
I never imagined that Christmas Day would bring such devastating news that would alter the course of our lives forever. Eddie (AKA: Trenton), my incredible husband, a devoted businessman and stepfather, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer on that fateful day. He is the kind of man who has always been there for others, generously giving to those in need without expecting anything in return. He has never been a smoker, and we had no idea that a few days of coughing would lead us down this harrowing path.
On Christmas Eve, after he coughed up blood, I rushed him to the ER, and the next day we were hit with the unthinkable: "you have CANCER." My heart shattered. Trenton has a molecular malformation called ALK, which is treatable with a targeted chemotherapy pill called Lorlatinib. However, our insurance doesn’t cover it, and the cost for a 30-day supply is an overwhelming $9,687.43. The cancer has already spread to his liver, bones, and lymphatic system. But this treatment is 60-70% effective. Trenton will need to continue taking Lorlatinib for as long as it remains effective.
As if that wasn't enough, on January 2nd, at 4 AM, Trenton suffered a massive stroke, leaving his right side flaccid and taking away his ability to speak. The medical team suggested palliative care, but I refused to accept that. I began physical therapy on him myself and, against the odds, he passed a swallow test the very next day! He has regained some movement. He's a fighter, and I am, too. Despite our challenges, Trenton has shown remarkable progress and was moved to acute rehabilitation. After just a short 14 days post stroke he is walking unassisted (with gait belt for safety),
Currently, we are in Mexico pursuing alternative treatments at Hope 4 Cancer, alongside the targeted chemotherapy. So far the bills are over $70k and that’s just the beginning.
Our lives have been turned upside down, and while I am working to support him, without Trenton, our income is in jeopardy. We are committed to fighting this battle together, but we need support as we navigate this journey.
Trenton is a proud man who has always supported others, and I know he will overcome this challenge. I'm simply asking for a little support along the way. All funds will be used for his treatment. Thank you, Gretchen.

He has trouble communicating but no trouble with numbers! :)
