With a heavy heart and profound sense of loss, we send the news that our best friend Tom Hickman passed away at 12:20am Tuesday morning. He was in the presence and comfort of family, and not in pain. More details will come in the following days about funeral services.

There is no doubt that Tom had a tremendous impact in our lives. His life of faith as a friend and his generosity to others was always on display. Tom was there to help in the time of need, to ensure former classmates were never forgotten, and to champion the causes that impacted his hometown.

Our lives will forever be described in stories that involved Tom in some way. Funny and sometimes unbelievable, genuine and true to his word, caring for those in need, and always with the heart of a Brownwood Lion, Tom will always be in our hearts and best memories.

I cannot express how thankful and blessed Marsha has felt these last months for the prayers and support you have given. Your kindness and generosity allowed her to be with Tom throughout this time and she is grateful. We will be closing out this GoFundMe soon, but wanted to encourage you a final time if possible to give in some small way to assist in Tom’s funeral expenses.
