Hello, my name is Tina Hart. I am a mom of 2, a wife of 33 years, and a step-mom, and a Grammy to lots of grandchildren. I am in End Stage Renal Failure. I have been placed on the nationwide transplant list. I am going for surgery in the next couple of weeks to get a port placed for peritoneal dialysis. This is a port that will be placed in my belly, and I will hook up to a machine every day for 8 to 10 hours to keep me alive. I also have antiphospholipid syndrome (a blood clotting disease). I am doing dialysis at home because my husband has dementia, so there are so many medical things I need for my room that I haven’t already gotten. I will be traveling 2 hours one way and having to cross the Chesapeake Bay bridge (16$ each time crossing bridge). I will be spending a lot of money for travel never mind the tolls I have to pay. I want to add the travel I’ll be doing in may so that everyone gets an understanding of how expensive it’s going to be for me….april 28th I go across bay to meet surgeon, surgery will be scheduled that day. I then will travel across bay to go to surgery, one week later I travel across bay to get bandages changed, a week later I will travel across bay to get port flush(first dialysis), and then in same week I will travel across bay everyday for 1 week to get training for home dialysis. As you can see this is going to be extremely expensive! Just for travel it will cost approximately 450$ just for gas and tolls. I did a go fund me in the past and that did help me get some of the items I needed for my room. But now it’s time I’m going on dialysis and I need the rest of the medical items for my room,plus the travel for my care. I also did a wish list on Amazon and the link is:
