An Open Letter to the Public

from Dr. Magnus Q. Thawne, PhD*, MSc**, Esq.***

Hello Friends, Visionaries, and People with Surprisingly Flexible Ethics,

My name is Dr. Magnus Q. Thawne, and I am here today to ask for your support in what I can only describe as a completely benign, entirely philanthropic, and definitely-not-about-the-ice global initiative.

Let me be absolutely clear from the outset: this project is not about melting glaciers.

Any resemblance to glacier melting—past, present, or future—is purely coincidental, speculative, or the result of malicious interpretation by people who “ask questions.”

Who am I to Ask This of You?

An excellent question, hypothetical donor.

I received my early academic training at the Wuhan Institute for Virology, where I developed a lifelong appreciation for safety protocols, windowless rooms, and saying “this is very preliminary” with a straight face. I later completed an internship testing rabies vaccines on sharks during what historians now call The Summer of the Shark—a formative experience that taught me two key lessons:

Sharks do not like needles.

Data integrity is a state of mind.

Professionally, I am a data scientist, which means I can generate compelling graphs that suggest inevitability, destiny, or at minimum, “strong correlations.” I have also consulted on projects ranging from geo-optimization to large-scale environmental persuasion to hypothetical planetary-scale heat redistribution (purely academic).

I assure you: I am qualified.

What Is the Project Actually About?

At its core, this is a project about reflectivity, energy redirection, and water management.

To encourage transparency, I am offering tiered funding goals, each one more ambitious than the last—though all of them, again, are totally unrelated to ice.

Funding Goals

Tier One: “Surface Enhancement”

Goal: Modest

This phase focuses on coating certain underappreciated surfaces with cutting-edge nanoparticles to “study albedo effects.” That’s science-talk for learning, not changing anything. If those surfaces happen to be white, reflective, and located near the poles, that is simply where the data lives.

Nothing melts at this stage. Nothing at all.

Please stop asking.

☀️ Tier Two: “Orbital Synergy Initiative”

Goal: Aspirational

At this level, we explore solar-powered, low-orbit assets working together in harmony. Think constellations, coordination, and connectivity. Think Starlink, but with a stronger emphasis on focus.

These assets may or may not emit tightly organized enthusiasm in the direction of Earth.

They are not lasers.

And even if they were, they would be very polite lasers.

⚛️ Tier Three: “Integrated Thermal & Hydrological Vision”

Goal: Transformative (Do Not Tell Anyone)

This final phase investigates compact nuclear energy sources paired with tastefully designed canal systems to “improve runoff efficiency.” Runoff from what, you ask?

Weather. Just… weather.

This tier is about resilience, adaptation, and moving water from one place to another in a very intentional way. If that water used to be frozen, that is merely an anecdote.

Why Crowdfunding?

Because traditional institutions keep using words like “no,” “illegal,” and “we’ve talked about this before.”

Crowdfunding, on the other hand, believes in dreams, plausible deniability, and stretch goals.

Final Thoughts

I am not a mad scientist.

I am simply a scientist with ambition, a questionable résumé, and a vision for a slightly less frozen tomorrow—which, again, is not the point of this project.
