Hi, my name is Jacob Arthur, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my father-in-law, Archie Edwards.

Archie was recently diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer, which has spread to his bones, lungs, and abdomen. He is currently receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and will begin radiation treatment soon. Through everything, he has stayed strong and focused on his care.

Archie spent most of his life working as a carpenter, contributing his skills to projects with Unique Homes, Lester Building Systems, and helping many people privately over the years. He graduated with the Class of ’73 and served as class president — a reflection of the leadership and character he’s carried throughout his life.

He’s surrounded by his loving family: his wife Debrah (60), and his children Shan-Dana Hays (36), Jamie Hays (23), and Scott Tucker (54).

This fundraiser is simply a way for friends, family, and anyone who knows Archie to support him if they feel led to. All contributions will go toward medical treatments, travel for care, and helping keep things comfortable at home while he focuses on healing.

We are also hosting a benefit for Archie on December 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Speakeasy in Mattoon, Illinois. Details for this event can be found on Facebook.
