Mad Swirl rarely asks for help but when we do, rest assured it’s for a most excellent reason!
To date, Mad Swirl has funded a few of our projects from our book & merch sales, but mostly the cost comes out of our own pockets. To accomplish the projects below, we humbly request your help:
Updates to MadSwirl.com: Our website is currently being updated to best showcase the work of our contributing poets, writers & artists. It has been 10 years since we have done so & we want to make our site even more interactive & easier for all Swirlers to navigate the poetry, short stories, art & events that color our Swirl world.
Publish more books: Our online presence is wide, deep, and dynamic. This year & next we will be publishing more books from our Contributing Poets & Writers, along with our annual Best of Mad Swirl.
Launch our Podcast: Mad Swirl is producing a quarterly podcast, "Inside the Eye!" Each episode will have a roundtable chat with our Mad Staff on recent developments in the Swirl and will feature an interview with one of our Contributing Mad ones.
Now that you know what we do with all our proceeds, will you help us out? If you can spare a dollar (or few), EVERY ¢ donated will go towards growing our collective creative outlet… and you can say you helped!

P.P.S. Founded in 1999, Mad Swirl was created as an arts and literature creative outlet. Mad Swirl is a platform, a showcase, and a stage for artistic expression in this mad, mad world of ours; a diverse collection of as many poets, artists, and writers we can gather from around the world; from Nepal to Ireland, from England to China, from California to New York City and all the places in between. Our Poetry Forum features works from over 170 Contributing Poets, our Short Story Library has over 40 Contributing Writers and our Mad Gallery has over 50 Resident Artists.
In addition, Mad Swirl Press produces & publishes our annual anthology, “The Best of Mad Swirl” and other works from our contributors. The team also produces a quarterly podcast, “Inside the Eye.” And lastly, since 2004 Mad Swirl has been hosting our monthly open mic every 1st Wednesday in Dallas.
