Join Abby's Journey: Gap Year Mission Support

Hello friends and family! As many of you may know, I have committed to Colorado College to further my academic journey. Before heading off to Colorado College, I felt God calling me to take a gap year, setting aside time to further deepen my relationship with Him before entering the college-campus mission field.

From October to March of the next school year, I will be participating in a Frontiers Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission in Paris. The DTS I’ll be joining is called ‘All-In.’ For the first three months, I’ll be based in Paris at the YWAM base for the lecture phase, deepening my understanding of God, the Bible, and my relationship with Him. The final three months will be spent in the outreach phase, backpacking through the 10/40(Middle East, South Asia, and North Africa) region to serve and reach those who have yet to hear the gospel.

The past two years I have been blessed to help lead the students in my school in a deeper pursuit of Jesus and the presence of God. Starting with a small prayer group in 2022 that grew into monthly worship nights for both Christians and non-Christians, we witnessed students encounter the Holy Spirit for the first time, some giving their lives to Jesus, and a renewed passion spreading among previously lukewarm Christians. After seeing the Holy Spirit move so powerfully in my school, I am confident doing a discipleship school is the next step that God has in preparing me for his mission field at a college where only around 1.5% of the student population is Christian.

I am committed to funding most of my DTS myself, offering both my time and resources to God during this gap year. Through my two summer jobs, I’ve raised $5,000 towards the $6,300 cost of the Discipleship School. With plane tickets and travel, I’m seeking to raise an additional $2,000 from my community. Please also pray that I discover new aspects of God's Character in a deeper way, am filled with compassion seeing His worldwide mission, and that I find a great community at the YWAM school.
