As a small group of creatives, we started Emerald Strike Film Co. about 5 years ago. We are still hard at work making more films and series than ever with the mindset of quick releases, tighter budgets, and smaller but leaner crew sizes! (Maybe more than any other indie crew?) (We know how to make less work for more!)
We made sure we created films and now series that could keep everyone interested and entertained! From Westerns coming soon (Lawless Land) to Gladiators in Ancient Rome (Heresy), to thrillers full of cultists (The Out of Towner), to spitfire redheads fighting to survive in futuristic deep space! (MANDIAS)
It all started after and because of those early days of Follow the River. Now we feel ready and fired up to go back to the jungle and finish the story!
We are excited to announce we are starting production of Follow the River Part 2! (If you have not seen the first film, it is playing on YouTube under the Emerald Strike Film Co. Page! With the remastered final cut releasing soon!)
We set up this campaign to make sure we could achieve the best quality and effort in tackling the second and possibly last film of the story-line! But first let's talk about the backstory of the project!
When we started out doing the first film, we had everything against us, weather, time constraints, budget, and to be frank a lack of better technique! The result is our biggest and most popular entry to date. Even with its shortcomings it proved a lot of love and dedication can make it all work out! Within the first go round, We had accurate costumes, setting and script work (While still being film Fiction) And We had a Helicopter from the period as well! The second time around we don't want to hold punches, cast more, more action, more thriller insanity! (With your help of Course!)
About the Film / Story:
In the first Film, Set in 1968 during the Vietnam War, an Army Captain named Kieth Durham is recruited by the CIA to undertake a hybrid operation in Laos outside of the legal borders of the war itself.
Kieth agreed to sign on under the contingency he will be able to return home to his wife in Texas after the operation is over The mission would be called Operation Foxtrot, and unknown to Kieth Durham, it was in its essence a cover-up and justification of one of his new teammates, Sergeant Major Macklemore Rooney. The Mission was to be flown in, dropped off in Laos to kill or capture a Vietkong sniper, 'The problem child' , who had been targeting officers in the country within 3 days. Along with Durham and Rooney, was the third teammate named Williams. A Lt. and scout sniper with the skill set to help offset the hunt of another sniper.
As they progress a series of clues and troubles plague their journey, leading to a doublecross and murder at the end of the line, where Rooney had been using Durham's reputation, rank, and need to get home against him. When the bluff is called, Rooney's dedication to his ideals proves it no bluff, killing the Lt. and supposedly Durham by an act of sacrifice..
Part 2, will find us with Rooney and Durham again, but now in the height of the Tet Offensive in 68', Now we will See Durham, Trying to avenge no only the death of Lt. Williams, but his own morals in taking what he felt was a very crooked operation in the beginning.. Now we will see Rooney in the shadows as Durham Shines the light, Right in the middle of all Hell breaking loose during the War at its Peak of chaos.
