Born and raised in Venezuela on December, 1994 with humble beginnings and God in her life we all hope for a normal life, and like every other kid in the town, she was always out and about playing and visiting with family and friends.  Always looking forward to eating chicha (rice drink) with her Grandfather after school and eating arepas made by her Grandma with brothers.

At the age of 9; however, she started being ill and losing weight and frequently using restroom.  Come to find out she almost went in a diabetic coma.  Her family had to make drastic change to her life and find a way to educate her that she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.     It was a shock and she could not comprehend why she was not able to have candy and her favorite "chicha" anymore or at least as frequent as she used to.  She managed to keep control of everything with help of all her family and friends for years, until it started to get harder to get supplies in her native Country of Venezuela.  Her mom made a decision to try and make a move to USA, since it would be more accessible for supplies. At the age of 19 Paola was uprooted from everything and everyone she knew and started their new journey and made Jupiter Florida, their permanent home.

She has been working at Dune Dog Cafe for 4 years now and has made many friends and patrons who are like family with their frequent visits and look forward to being served by Paola.

Her biggest struggle has always been to keep in mind she needs to monitor her glucose level as well as  getting insulin for her pump.  It is a monthly expense that has been very costly.   Being  out of warranty for more than 5 years with previous insulin pump, she finally managed to get a new pump this year 2019.  On that high note, she felt renewed and in good spirits to keep working hard and moving forward to greater things.

On February 22nd, 2019 Paola was given news that every woman fears and another challenge in her life, - " you have Infiltrating Duct Carcinoma - Breast Cancer".    For any woman at any age this would be devastating but for Paola being so young and always monitoring her food intake to ensure she always eating healthy, it has completely shook her life and ours.

Now at the ripe age of 24, Paola is about to embark on yet another journey to fight Breast Cancer along with her Type 1 Diabetes condition.  She is now seeing some of the best in the business, Dr. Elizabeth Byron as Oncologist and Dr. Nancy Taft as surgeon and Dr. Cooper as plastic surgeon and to be treated at Jupiter Medical Center.

Now, more than ever, Paola, NEEDS our HELP.

She still has a long road ahead but with God by her side and family and friends like you, she knows she can fight this, "She's got this" and "We got this"!

The funding from your contributions will go directly towards assisting Paola with basic living expenses, groceries, prescription costs, uninsured medical expenses, medical co-pays, and any other needs directly associated with her care as she will be out of work for a month or two depending on treatment going forward.

If you can give, please do, every little helps and is a blessing that would be greatly appreciated.  Paola has touched so many with her kindred spirit and bright smile. Its now our turn to show her how loved she is and give her the added strength she needs to beat cancer.

We will keep everyone informed on Paola's progress via her facebook or Instagram page, so please follow and pass along.  Feel free to drop her a line of support.

We Thank You All in advance for your kind consideration/generosity and know Paola will be eternally grateful for any help she's able to get.
