Mark you calendars! I am hosting the 2nd annual fundraiser event at Puck to benefit Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation (ECEF) and Kin Wellness Center. Rockabilly from The Vostones, and locals One Lane Bridge (Dave Montemurro) as well as DJ Gen XxX are the evening's entertainment. There will also be silent auctions for assorted gift baskets, excursions and merchandise, and a 50/50 r$ffle. $15 suggested donation at the door and 15% of all bar proceeds go to ECEF so drink up and dance for a good cause!
About me: I was raised in Doylestown and happily returned after 25 years in 2013 with a wife and two young daughters. I was first diagnosed with esophageal cancer (EC) in Nov of 2022. I received chemo/radiation in Jan/Feb, esophagectomy with stomach resection in April, followed by 12 months of immunotherapy. I am doing well now, but sadly, there is still no cure for cancer, only remission. But, like every cancer survivor, I hope to be in remission for a very, very long time. At 54 years, I was blindsided by this disease and knew very little about this relatively rare form of cancer. It has been an education for me and I would now like to share what I have learned about prevention and early diagnosis of this disease; one that is on the rise and especially among younger people. It is with the generous love and support of my friends and family that I have endured this journey and now I would like to give back by raising money for the ECEF and Kin Wellness Center. Esophageal Cancer (EC) remains one of the most underfunded areas of cancer research and I would like to help change that as well as raise money for Kin Wellness Center which offers free comfort and care to local cancer patients during their treatment.
