Join the Fight Against ALS in Memory of My Wife Karen

Dear Family & Friends,

Welcome to my fundraising page.

As many if not all of you know, I lost my beautiful and dear wife of 31 years on October 24,2024 to the horrific disease ALS.

Often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS is a progressive, fatal neuro degenerative disease that slowly robs a person of their ability to walk, speak, swallow, and eventually to breathe.

I am participating in the ALS Network’s Walk & Roll to cure ALS on Sunday, December 8th, because I am committed to supporting those affected by ALS and to spread awareness for the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

Every 90 minutes, a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS, and sadly, every 90 minutes, another person will lose their battle. The average life expectancy of a person with ALS is 2-5 years from time of diagnosis. The diagnosis is difficult to determine and takes an exorbitant amount of time. Sadly, my wife lost her battle after only 7 short weeks from time of diagnosis. ALS can strike anyone and there is no known cause of the disease.

Everything the ALS network does ensures access to essential services, free of charge (which I can attest to) and accelerates the search for prevention strategies, treatments, and cures.

Thank you for visiting my page!! Please consider donating what you are able to in support of my efforts to end ALS in memory of my beautiful wife who I miss dearly, so no one will have to suffer the way she did.
