Maria is a dedicated and hard working cross guard/bus aide that has been working for the Somerton school district since 1995. Maria is very passionate about her job and working with kids. She has become a notable figure in her community and is adored not only by the children in the community but by their parents as well. Maria was set to retire in September, but unfortunately she has been having several heart attacks and other complications that have affected her ability to continue working. Now she needs heart surgery that will stop her from continuing to do the job she loves the most. She needs assistance for medical bills and with funds that will allow her family to be by her side as she recovers from surgery in Phoenix, AZ.
