Dear Friends,

I humbly come to you seeking your prayers and kindness for a very dear friend, Jeff Pyles. If I were asked what an angel looks like, it would be him. Jeff embodies selflessness, humility, joy, and gentleness—qualities that have shone brightly throughout his decades of service catering to our planes. Each day, he blesses crew members and passengers alike with his infectious smile, encouraging words, heartfelt prayers, and warm hugs. Jeff changes lives with his unconditional love, treating everyone as a friend and offering genuine concern for their well-being. His sparkle of hope reminds us all that “everything will be alright.”

Jeff and his beautiful wife, Debi, have dedicated their lives to serving their community, friends, and family, even amidst their own struggles. They honor the memory of their precious daughter, who passed away from cancer at a young age, by helping others navigate their grief. During the lockdown, when Jeff’s mother was hospitalized with COVID, he and his family showed her love and support through signs and songs outside her window. After her passing, rather than becoming bitter, Jeff celebrated her life by covering the hospital lawn with hearts and expressing gratitude to the nurses who cared for her. When local schools closed, he and Debi packed and delivered lunches to children in need, ensuring they received well-rounded meals while homebound.

Now, I am reaching out to ask for an army of love to support Jeff and Debi in their time of need. In February, Debi underwent a complicated hernia surgery that turned into a fight for her life. After four months filled with numerous surgeries, intubations, and painful procedures, she is finally back home by the grace of God but still requires 24-hour care and has more surgeries ahead. Jeff has been her unwavering caregiver throughout this overwhelming ordeal, but it has taken a toll. Since early February, he has been unable to work, and with his FMLA running out soon, they face a daunting financial burden.

As the sole breadwinner carrying the health insurance for himself, Debi, and their two grandchildren, Jeff and Debi have exhausted their financial reserves and are on the brink of losing their home and health insurance. They have always lived within their means, but this unexpected crisis has buried them under debt.

Can we come together as an army of good to support them? Your generosity can help keep a roof over their heads, lights on, food on the table, gas in their car, and peace of mind so Jeff can focus on nursing Debi back to health and caring for their grandchildren without the weight of financial stress.
