**THIS FUNDRAISER IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT MADE A DONATION**
Have you enjoyed being part of the Brussels Ladies Meetup Network?
I hope so! It's grown into a great community of diverse, supportive and fabulous women of all ages and more than 100 nationalities - and best of all, it's 100% FREE!
I put A LOT of work goes into managing the group - mainly behind the scenes - to keep the group alive, safe and welcoming. It would be hugely rewarding for me to feel like the group is making a difference, not just to members but also to our wider community.
If you've been part of our journey over the last six years, hosted or joined in meetups, or just appreciated reading all our posts and seeing the meetup photos, please consider donating a few euros to our fundraiser to help vulnerable women in Brussels.
Our first fundraiser last year raised a fantastic 2,507 euros for our chosen local charities BRUZELLE and TALITA, and I'd like to support them again this year.
BruZelle is a Brussels-based charity (ASBL) that fights menstrual poverty by collecting menstrual pads and distributing them freely and in dignity to women living in precarious conditions. You can read all about their work and FAQs on their website (EN/FR/NL): https://www.bruzelle.be/en/.
Talita is a Brussels-based charity (ASBL) that offers shelter, accommodation and support to adult women (with or without children) that find themselves homeless or no longer able to live independently. The women are often victims of domestic abuse, eviction, debt, or are suffering from mental health issues. Whilst with Talita, the women are supported to get into employment, receive training, access health care, and secure permanent accommodation and education for their children. You can find out more on their website: https://www.talita.brussels/
Click here to see photos of the funds we raised last year being handed over to each charity:
We now have over 6,500 members. If every member donates a few euros, imagine the difference that we can make.
IMPORTANT:
100% of all the funds raised will be donated to the above official, registered charities that specifically support women in Brussels. I'll share updates as we go along, including the handover of the final total.
You can make your donation anonymous if you like - and every euro counts, so don't hesitate to contribute whatever you can spare, however little. Donations can be made by various methods. If none of those listed are an option for you, send me a message and we'll work something out.
GoFundMe is one of the most popular donation platforms in the UK. The platform requests a minimum donation of 5 euros, on which their fees of 2.9% + €0.25 will be applied. It's a small price to pay for the security and transparency of our fundraiser. Note that the 'tips donation request' by the gofundme platform is entirely optional
Feel free to adjust the slider to zero, as shown below, as tips not go to the platform, not our charities.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Helen
