TEAM TATE: Rallying Hope, Strength, and Support

Ten-year-old Tate has been bravely facing a challenge no child should have to endure. After puzzling episodes of unexplained vomiting, a visit to the ER led to the heartbreaking discovery of a brain tumor.

On Monday, Tate underwent tumor resection surgery performed by the incredible Dr. Jodi Smith and is recovering at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. While he has shown great courage through this major step, his journey is far from over. Tate’s care team, including Pediatric Oncology, has advised that the next phase will be radiation therapy. This specialized treatment is not available locally in Indianapolis and will require travel out of state, adding to the complexity and strain.

At this time, the full diagnosis and treatment plan are still being finalized. What is certain is that the road ahead will be long and difficult.
