Help Save Ozzy – Our Champion, Our Best Friend
Ten days ago, our world stopped.
Our beloved Ozzy — our young 6 year old Shetland Sheepdog — was diagnosed with an aggressive, terminal cancer called Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC). We were told he may only have a month to live.
This Wednesday we meet with an oncologist to learn if there are any next steps… anything we can do to prolong his life or give him more time. Until then, we are asking for the power of the people — Ozzy’s fan club — to come together and help us fight for him.
Ozzy is not just a dog. He is my mom Bev’s heart and soul. They are truly two peas in a pod. They do everything together.
Ozzy came into our lives in March 2020, just one week before the COVID lockdown. Since then, he has spent nearly every single day by my mom’s side. Over the past four years, they have traveled all over California and Oregon competing, and have attended major shows in Colorado, Missouri, and Florida. Ozzy has visited five national parks and seen more of this country than most people ever will.
Just 13 days before his diagnosis, we were in New York City celebrating him at a major awards ceremony for the Top Show Dogs of 2025.
Ozzy is currently ranked #1 in AKC Rally for 2025 by the American Kennel Club.
He has earned 10 RACH championship titles — only the second dog in history to achieve that. He is ranked #3 in lifetime rally points by the AKC, despite only competing at the championship level for three and a half years. He was ranked #3 in 2023 and 2024 and made the #1 spot in 2025.
And now we are facing the unimaginable.
To top it off, Ozzy’s pet insurance is about to run out. Even basic medications, lab work, blood tests, and urine tests to monitor his condition are incredibly expensive. If treatment is possible, the costs will only increase.
My mom has given me everything I have ever needed in life. If there is anything that can help prolong or save Ozzy’s life, this is the least I can do to give something back to her. Ozzy is my moms whole entire world.
We also want to share Ozzy’s warning signs so other dog owners can be aware:
In early January, Ozzy began having sudden bouts of diarrhea that did not improve with conventional treatments or a bland diet. His urination habits changed — going more frequently but in smaller amounts. Three blood and urine tests came back completely normal.
During a Rally event in Fresno, Ozzy refused to jump — something he has always done with joy. An emergency X-ray showed an enlarged liver. An ultrasound the next day revealed a very enlarged prostate and affected lymph nodes. A needle aspirate confirmed TCC cancer.
This type of cancer can mimic intestinal problems, UTIs, or bladder stones. It can be very difficult to diagnose.
We are heartbroken, but we are not giving up without a fight.
If you are able to donate — no amount is too small — we are deeply grateful. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing Ozzy’s story. Every share matters.
Thank you for support for Team Ozzy ❤️
