7/3 update: First, we are so grateful for your support! Along with the financial contributions, we feel the love and care you are sending our way. Thank you, thank you. Lita's incision continues to heal, and she seems to be feeling better overall. She's still on a lot of medications, and we're taking it slowly. Our big adventures are now small ones - short drives to visit friends and sitting by the river are a form of medicine, too. We'll share current photos soon. Lita is family, and we need your help. Our brave ten-year-old rescue pup is facing the toughest battle of her life. After years of vibrant health, she suddenly developed a severe inflammatory skin condition called nodular panniculitis. As if that wasn't enough, our veterinary team discovered a tumor on her spleen. Her health issues surfaced just two months ago, and this week, we reached a critical point post-surgery. Her splenectomy incision became infected, requiring us to visit the specialist veterinary office five times in one week. We caught it in time and are very, very lucky.

Despite everything, Lita remains courageous and engaged with the world around her. My partner and I are providing care around the clock, leaving us with little time to address the financial burden this situation has placed on us. This is why we are reaching out to you - because we believe Lita has more time. Time to adventure in the woods, visit her friends, and take long walks by the sea. We are all rooting for her. We are Team Lita.

Since the day I rescued her from a box on a doorstep in Sayulita, Mexico, we have always looked out for each other. Now, our pack needs your help to cover the mounting veterinary bills, which are nearing $20,000. We quickly maxed out her insurance policy, which only covered about one-third of these expenses. Two surgeries, emergency care, multiple appointments, medications, and specific food all adds up!
