Join #teamhagerty : Support Brian's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
Our brother, Brian Hagerty, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and is in dire need of our financial help. Our hope is that we come together as a community to support him during his fight.
The medical term is Hyperchromatic clustered epithelial groups consistent with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma. The reality is that he has two types of cancers; one is located at the base of his tongue, and the second mass is aggressive and affects the entire neck, including his throat, tongue, and esophagus. It also puts pressure on his nerves, sometimes even causing issues with swallowing and vision.
He faces the most significant fight while out of work, with copays, uncovered medical treatments, transportation, and personal expenses. Initially, doctors wanted to do a radical dissection on the neck, which would have left Brian disabled with any lymph nodes or glands and never able to speak again. After a couple of medical opinions, he entered cancer treatment in hopes that trauma
surgeons would not have to operate or leave him permanently disabled.
Brian has led a life of service to others in need. From a firefighter, a sheriff’s deputy, and a pastor with The Church of God. With a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Theology, he has been sharing the Bible worldwide. Brian resides with his family in Anthem, AZ, and is a sixth-grade American history teacher at Great Hearts-Anthem Preparatory.
He is having the time of his life teaching kids.
Everything he has done has used his strength of character, mind, and body to serve others. Now, Brian has become vulnerable, and we are asking for your help to alleviate the stress of surviving this ordeal financially. Brian says this experience has changed his outlook and life and he hopes to be there for others who are going
through this same experience.
Any contribution, big or small, will be effective in helping him stay strong and fight this disease with the dignity and support he deserves. Please consider donating and share the link wherever you can. Your prayers and kindness mean the world to
Brian. #teamhagerty
We also have a Caring Bridge site where you can read his full story.
