Call for help to all pet lovers!

For those that don’t already know, my name is Taylor. Every aspect of my life has been devoted to animals. From working at a doggy daycare, to becoming a dog groomer, to rescuing every animal I personally own - I am a pet mom at heart.

My life was recently flipped upside down in February when the owner of the salon I worked at, Shear Delight, was suddenly hospitalized and diagnosed with a brain tumor. Eric was an amazing mentor to me and although some may say I already had my hands full with 3 animals, I didn’t hesitate to give his dog, Pinky, a home. Within less than a month Eric unfortunately passed away.

I decided I wanted to fight to become owner of the shop and rename it Pinky’s Parlor, in honor of Eric and his dog Pinky. Due to the troubling circumstances with Eric passing, the process to make this happen has been long and unable to come to fruition yet. Which means I’ve had to hustle even harder to earn a living.

A couple months after having to say goodbye to Eric, I had to say goodbye to one of my dogs, Joey. He had an enlarged heart, wasn’t eating, and it became difficult for him to even breathe. After spending money on various procedures, medications, and doing everything I could, it was clear he had no quality of life and I had to let go.

Fast forward to now. Pinky suddenly started throwing up uncontrollably. Even if he drank water, he was throwing up everything in his stomach. After taking him into the vet, his X-rays showed blockage in his intestines, and he needed emergency surgery. I don’t have the money for this, but I can’t bear the thought of losing someone else close to me, and letting Eric down by not taking care of Pinky the way I had promised. The total expense was $5,800. Without hesitation I told them to go ahead with the procedure and save Pinky.

Pinky is out of surgery as of Saturday 6/22. His blood work is normal. He will still live on to be a happy dog and a part of my family. I still want to fight to make him the mascot of Pinky’s Parlor (Shear Delight) and pay homage to Eric. I want this shop so I can continue to take care of everyone’s fur babies. But I need help.

I am calling all dog moms, pet lovers, and any compassionate person that can spare any little bit to help me. I am not even expecting to raise the full amount for the surgery - but just posting this amount as the bar to be transparent about what was spent.

I am even willing to work for the donations!!
