As a cancer survivor, Tana is all too familiar with what it means to endure and overcome. Being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at the age of 19, known as Endometrial Sarcoma, Tana was left with no option but to undergo a hysterectomy to improve her odds of survival and give her a second opportunity in life. This difficult decision meant that Tana would no longer be able to bear children but despite this, it didn’t discourage her from becoming a tremendous mother figure to her 11 year old niece while simultaneously supporting her 5 nieces and nephews.

In December of 2024, Tana discovered for the third time, a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer with new tumor growth in the abdomen, pelvis and lungs. This kind of cancer presents itself in an aggressive and painful manner, creating a strain on her day-to-day life. Regardless of how arduous this journey may be, Tana continues to persevere with a fiery spirit and warm smile as she takes on this fight, refusing to take no for an answer.

Tana has always been a giver by nature, who has dedicated herself to helping others. So much so, that she sought out to become a registered nurse to provide others with the support and care she once too received. Since becoming a Mother Baby nurse in 2018, she has created remarkable difference in all those she touches while welcoming in so many new lives into this world.

​Now unable to work and currently fighting for her life, we are asking for the support of the community that Tana poured so much of herself into.
