Join Tacoma's Fight Against Spinal Cancer

I never expected to be here asking for help for Tacoma. Aside from my own dogs, Tacoma feels like my third dog. We used to live in the same apartment complex with him and his mom, Ashton, and we walked the dogs together and sat around and took him everywhere we went. Tacoma is the most chill dog I've ever spent any time around - he's the perfect brewery dog, road trip dog, couch dog, and hike dog. He's got all the characteristics that make him the dream rescue aside from one thing ... and that's cancer on his spinal column.

It hurts to type it and say it out loud and it hurts to know that Ashton, who had emergency surgery of her own just last year, is now having to go through it again but for her dog. Ashton and T are the ultimate duo - always down for a good time. Tacoma is a friend to literally anyone he meets - he doesn't bark or growl (except when appropriate) and he's not a toy hog or a food hog. He's the dog that will sit with you while you read, chill on the patio, or even go to watch your friends play adult kickball (yes that's a thing).

Tacoma recently started to have some bizarre symptoms around his mobility, ability to walk, energy level, etc. Ashton rushed him into the vet to discover that he had a tumor that was growing around his spinal column. Initially they were sure it was cancer and would be inoperable and that the most humane thing would be to put him down. However, after more information was gathered from additional testing, it was decided that they would remove the tumor with a fairly sizable surgery that, as usual with these types of things, didn't come with its own amount of risk.

Ashton is willing to go to the ends of the earth for T and so she proceeded with the risky procedure knowing that if he didn't make it, she had at least done everything she could. The surgery, which includes a $3,500 MRI, totaled $12,500. Ashton has been out of work for a hot minute like so many people right now and the job market being what it is, she's been working really hard to patch together different incomes - none of which would allow her to pay for this surgery. As her friends, we are surprising her with this GFM to try and lessen the burden on her financially since she's already got so much emotionally riding on this.

I know that money is tight for everyone right now - but any mount will help -- even $5. If you can spare it, we thank you so much but if you can't, no worries. If you can just share to your networks, boost the post you saw, whatever. Anything would be a help to our little T-Bone, T-Bone Willy, T-Dog, Tacoma boy. We love him so much and we appreciate any amount of support we can get.
