Hi! My sister's name is Suzanne. She has just been diagnosed with Stage 1 Natural Killer T-Cell Lymphoma. This cancer is extremely rare in people of her gender and race. It is apparently a very aggressive cancer but since it is Stage 1 doctors say she has a very good chance of conquering it with an aggressive treatment plan. She will have a total of 4 weeks (1 week at a time, 2 before radiation and 2 after) in the hospital for chemo treatments and 5 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week. This plan will be spread out over a course of 3-4 months depending on how well her body can tolerate the treatment. As of right now, she has a job and health insurance. Her treatment plan is going to reduce her income though and there is a possibility she could lose her health coverage if she can't maintain the amount of work hours needed to keep coverage. She does not have any other sources of benefits aside from health insurance at this time. There will be plenty of costs that insurance does not cover. Right now, she has absolutely no idea how this is going to turn out. Her faith and hope are resting in God as He is the only thing she is sure about at this point. She feels there is a purpose for this journey and is eager to see what becomes of it. If you feel compelled to help her along the way, in any way, whether it be prayers, encouragement, positive thoughts, or a generous donation, whatever it may be, we sincerely thank you and want you to know that any donations remaining after treatment is completed and Suzanne is back to a full-time working status will be forwarded in donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital to help other families with their expenses. Thank you for taking the time to read her story! God bless!
