Restore My Rhythm: Help a Teacher Reclaim Her Life
For 42 years, I poured my heart into teaching music—piano, violin, woodwinds, etc... I walked miles in nature, danced, biked, and shared joy through sound. Music was my life. So was movement. But everything changed after I suffered a sudden stroke. It stole my speech, my strength, my independence, and my mobility. What once came effortlessly—walking, talking, even using the bathroom—now requires assistance.
I spent 3 days in the hospital, followed by 12 days in rehab. I’m now home, working hard in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and under regular care from a nurse practitioner. I’m fighting to get my life back—but it’s a long and difficult road.
My beloved son is by my side every day, helping me through the smallest and biggest tasks. I am so grateful for him. But the bills are piling up—medical costs, electricity, food, home care—and I’m surviving on credit cards. While I was in the hospital, my power was even shut off because I couldn’t make a payment by phone.
I’m doing everything I can to heal. But I cannot do this alone.
I miss going to church. I miss making music. I miss walking freely.
If you’ve ever been moved by a teacher, by music, or by the kindness of someone who lifted others for decades—I ask you to help me now. Every donation, share, or prayer is a note in the melody of my recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart—for believing in my healing.
