Support Steve in His Fight Against Leukemia
This holiday season, we received heartbreaking news: Steve, only 42 years old, has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive acute leukemia called AML.
Steve is a joyful, hardworking, and devoted father who is deeply passionate about his family and sports. Whether he’s cheering on his kids at lacrosse games or rooting for the Buffalo Bills, Steve’s enthusiasm is infectious. When it comes to football, his superstitions know no bounds—he even has a lucky game-day outfit (including the lucky underwear!) that he swears by to ensure a win.
Steve is the kind of person who wears his heart on his sleeve and gives selflessly. Whether it’s offering his umbrella on a rainy day at a freezing Baldwinsville lacrosse game or lending a helping hand, Steve is always there to support others. Now, it’s our turn to support him.
Steve will begin treatment immediately at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he will be hospitalized for at least a month for his induction round of chemotherapy. It is unknown at this time what his next course of treatment will be- another round of chemo, or a bone marrow transplant. His doctor’s primary focus is on achieving complete remission and avoiding infection. Unfortunately, there are no local treatment options for AML. Hospitalization is essential to reduce the risk of infection, especially since his immune system is not functioning. He will also be out of work for at least six months.
Steve’s Mafia: Coming Together to Fight Leukemia
Let’s rally for Steve and tackle this challenge as a team. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in his fight against leukemia. Steve will need family by his side as often as possible. All money raised will be transferred to Steve’s bank account to cover regular monthly obligations and new medical and travel expenses. Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful for your prayers as he and his family navigate these challenges.
