Join Stephanie's Fight for a Cancer-Free Future

Hello Family, Friends and Supporters,

My sister Stephanie (Step to those who know her), was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in her left breast. A mast has been noticed in her right breast. Additional testing is required on her right breast to define the status and type. Her doctor has informed her it’s most likely Stage 1 as well. For now, surgery will be required on her left breast to remove the cancerous tissue. After additional testing on the right, surgery may be required on her right breast. Her preparation for surgery has already started with medication. If all goes well with the surgeries for the first 5 months and thereafter, she will be closely monitored by her doctors.

While insurance covers a great deal of her costs, there are out-of-pocket expenses that will fall in her lap. These costs include copayments for testing, gas for travel (she lives in a rural area of Alabama and must travel 42 miles-one way-for doctor’s care), and medication costs. Because of this, we’re asking for donations to reduce her out-of-pocket expenses. No gift is too small.
