Aloha friends and family,
On December 1st our dear Soluna was struck in a motor vehicle collision in Kona on Highway 19.
He’s since been medevaced to Queens Medical ICU unit in Honolulu, where he is currently stable and recovering with his family.
Sadly, he sustained multiple serious injuries including: traumatic brain injury(TBI), small brain bleed, shearing of the brain, punctured and collapsed lung, 5 fractured ribs, fractured pelvis, ruptured diaphragm, and his stomach was in his chest cavity.
He’s undergone two surgeries to repair his organs and has another surgery is scheduled for Dec. 23rd. Both surgeries have gone well and he is on the way to recovery in that area.
He also underwent CAT scans and MRIs to assess the damage and is now breathing on his own without a ventilator.
He is awake and talking! Everything is looking up and we are so thankful and praying for a full and speedy healing.
Unfortunately, in Soluna’s case, with his extensive injuries comes many medical bills and stressors for him and his loved ones who are stepping away from their daily life to be a pillar for him during this time of healing.
His health and recovery is everyone’s number one priority, but eventually we will have to worry about medical expenses, as well as airfares and transportation for his family to be with him during the next (estimated) 6-8 weeks and another approximate 2-3 weeks in a rehabilitation unit.
The goal is to alleviate any financial stress so the family and Soluna can focus solely on his recovery.
If you're able and willing to contribute, its so GREATLY appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute monetarily at this time we understand completely and contribution can also look like prayers for his recovery or sharing this campaign with your friends and family that might be able to make this goal possible. We continue to look forward to positive updates from his medical team and we are eager for his healing and eventually his return home to Big Island.
Thank you sincerely for ANY amount, thoughts and prayers
