Hi, I'm Skyler, a 12-year-old who loves dogs. I have two rescue dogs at home, and they've brought so much joy to my life. I wanted to help more dogs and make a difference in my community, so I found an amazing group called Cell Dogs!
Cell Dogs rescues dogs from local shelters and enrolls them in basic obedience training programs. These classes take place in correctional facilities and actively involve inmate trainers. For each training cycle, they make sure all dogs are lovingly adopted.
I first heard about Cell Dogs from my mom, who works with juveniles and young adults reenter into their communities after incarceration . She told me about a 14-year-old boy who was incarcerated and had a long sentence. As an adult he joined a similar program to the Cell Dogs program and while he was in jail, he worked with a dog that had been abandoned. Through this experience, he turned his life around. He said it was the first time he felt truly loved and understood, thanks to the dog he trained. This story inspired me and showed me how powerful the bond between people and dogs can be.
As part of my Community Project, I've decided to support Cell Dogs by raising money through this GoFundMe campaign. Your donations will help Cell Dogs continue their amazing work, teaching incarcerated people and dogs to change lives for the better.
Your support will:
• Help Incarcerated Individuals: Give them a chance to learn new skills and gain confidence.
• Save Homeless Dogs: Provide training and care so they can find loving homes.
• Build Stronger Communities: Bring people together and create positive change.
Please join me in supporting Cell Dogs. Together, we can make a big difference for both people and dogs in need.
