Join Silas's Battle Against Cancer

My name is Sarah Draper Bales, and my 10-year-old nephew Steven "Silas" Bellavance was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer early last week. Silas is 10 years old and going into the 5th grade at Heights Elementary School in Clarkston. Today, they met with the pediatric oncologist in Spokane and will be making regular trips up for the foreseeable future. Silas will be returning in a few days for an MRI/CAT scan and PET scan to see if it has spread to his lymph nodes, and then surgery in two weeks that we know for sure right now.

My sister Anna recently became employed with Clearwater Paper and her benefits have not yet kicked in, and she hasn't been there long enough for FMLA. Silas's medical bills have already reached $5,000.00.
