Join Sherman in his fight against lung cancer

Hello, I am Chef Sherman Lacy. I retired this past August '24 from Brookhaven Country Club, a career I truly loved after working for 35+ years. I was looking forward to traveling the world and just laying back, enjoying the rest of my days with my beautiful wife, family, and friends.

On October 8, 2024, I got the news from my doctor that I had been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and also Stage IV Lung Cancer, AKA small cell Adenocarcinoma. Both of these conditions are doing major damage to my right lung. I am on oxygen 100% of the time now. I am fighting for my life, keeping a positive mental attitude. I appreciate your prayers and thoughtfulness.

I had my first round of chemo on November 11, 2024. My wife and I want to personally thank the members and staff at Club Corp USA/Brookhaven Country Club, as well as other family and friends who would like to be a blessing to me. We have created a platform for people to be able to help out by donating funds to me for medical needs, supplies, and necessary equipment to aid me during my journey.
