Join Shana in her fight with stage 4 breast cancer

Dear friends, as many of you now know Shana recently received news no woman is ever prepared to hear. In late July she received a diagnosis of breast cancer, which she just learned is Stage 4  metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her bones. What this means is Shana will be undergoing a bilateral oophorectomy, where both ovaries will be removed in an effort to stop her estrogen production. She will then begin hormonal therapy which she will more than likely remain on, to some extent, for the rest of her life.

This journey Shana is preparing to embark on is going to take her down some difficult roads. We all know that life on a normal day can be incredibly hard at times, but what Shana is about to endure is going to push the boundaries of hard to another level for not only her but for Mike and their 4 sweet children.

I would like to take a moment to describe what a normal day in the Carroll household looks like. Shana and Mike have four small children ranging in ages 1-8. The two oldest are homeschooled by Shana, the second to youngest is in preschool, and the baby…well, he would prefer to snuggle with his mama all day. Their lives are beautifully chaotic as one might imagine with 4 little ones. Their house is filled with vibrant colors, adventures, laughter, dancing, learning, positive affirmations, patience, kindness, and love.

The top priority for Shana during this journey is to preserve as much of the normalcy her children know and to ensure they are taken care of while she is fighting this disease. Although Shana has a truly amazing network of friends and family that love and care for her, she is currently thousands of miles away from her support system. This is where WE can rally together to help alleviate this huge burden for Shana, providing her the opportunity to focus on her healing.

As many of you know all too well, cancer not only takes an emotional and physical toll it takes a toll on financial resources as well. This is OUR opportunity to embrace this AMAZING human who has been an enormous blessing to countless people throughout her life and return those blessings to her and her family. Through your generosity, we hope to get her the support she and her family need to meet the day-to-day demands of living with cancer while raising a young family.

Now more than ever, Shana NEEDS our HELP. We need to unite with her and join her in this fight.
