Join Sarah's Fight Against ALS

Two years ago, on June 21, 2022, Sarah Parton's life changed forever with the diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is an incurable, progressive, and devastating condition that progressively diminishes muscle function, typically reducing life expectancy to 2-5 years, stealing decades of potential life.
Sarah dedicated over 25 years to human services, supporting children, youth, and adults during their most challenging times. Now, as she faces ALS, we have an opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much.
Living with ALS means confronting daily obstacles, loss of mobility, and increasing difficulty with everyday tasks. Soon, Sarah will require full-time caregiving and medical support, yet many essential devices, adaptations, and specialized equipment necessary for her daily life are not covered by insurance.
Currently, Sarah is reliant on a wheelchair as ALS has already affected her leg muscles. Over time, she will lose control of her arm, hand, neck, jaw, and tongue muscles. Eventually, she may become almost completely immobilized, able only to move her eyes while maintaining full cognitive function. This progression will strip away her independence, impacting basic functions like eating, swallowing, speaking, and breathing.
Despite these immense challenges, Sarah remains a positive presence, grateful for each day spent with her husband of 20 years and her family. She is also raising her grandchildren, who will remember her with fondness despite the impact of ALS.
Your donations will help alleviate the financial burden of ALS, providing critical support for Sarah's medical care and equipment needs at home. More than just financial assistance, your contributions will reassure Sarah that she is not fighting this battle alone.
Sarah's life has been defined by selfless service to others. Now is our chance to support her and her family during this difficult time. Please join us in standing with Sarah as she faces ALS with courage and grace.
