Help Sandy's Daughter, Samantha, Fight Against Liver Cancer

I am struggling with the words to write…. it is much easier to write a Go Fund Me for a stranger.

This past Friday one of my Best Friends, Sandy Mazoway, found out her little girl, Samantha, was diagnosed at age 9 with Liver Cancer. It doesn’t feel real writing it. There are few things in life you are not prepared for as a parent and this is one of those moments.

Let me tell you a little bit about this fun loving little 9 year old Samantha aka “Sam” “Samster” or “Sam I am”. Sam is creative, very crafty, energetic, kind, funny, sweet and caring. Loves horses, her puppy, hanging with her bestie Blake, Holidays with a yard full of matching blow ups and her very loving family!

Sam is wise beyond her years and has a big heart like her Mama! You may have even been the lucky recipient of a random Rose given out by Sam at the 24 Hours Of Booty bike ride in honor of her grandma Rosie. When she smiles her little nose crinkles and you can’t help but smile with her. Her giggles are adorable.

One thing I love about children is that they are resilient. Sam will be a fighter through this with her family and friends and all her “aunties” beside her all the way! This is just a bump in the road in the very long life she will live.

To know Sandy, is to know an earthly angel. Sandy will do anything for anyone at the drop of hat. She often puts the needs of others before herself. On Friday Sandy wrote “ I can’t believe I am writing this but Sam has liver cancer. I can’t even breathe right now”.

My wish is for this family to be able to Breathe. To be able to focus a little more on Sam and family time and healing and not on medical bills.

I know a community coming together is powerful, I’ve witnessed it. Even the smallest donations add up to help remove financial burdens that can help a family “breathe”.

God is and always will be a stronghold in this family. Lord, I pray that healing and health and love surround this family and Sam I Am will pull through with the resilience and God given strength that she was born with!
