Join Sage's Fight Against Kidney Disease

Donation protected
So many of my family and friends have been contacting me about what they can do to https://gofund.me/af1d3163help. I decided to coordinate this GoFundMe for my daughter Katelyn and her husband Jay and their family because they truly deserve it. Right now, their entire world revolves around baby Sage and her health, and the last thing they should be worrying about is how to pay their bills.

Katelyn had to make the decision to leave her job at Brahmin because they couldn’t accommodate the time off she needed to be with Sage through multiple hospitalizations and surgeries. No parent should have to choose between their child’s health and financial stability.

By raising funds, we can help ease their financial burden for a couple of months—giving them one less thing to worry about so they can focus entirely on Sage’s recovery. Whether it’s covering their mortgage, utilities, or daily expenses, every little bit helps.

Let’s come together and lift them up in this difficult time. If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, sending them heartfelt messages means just as much. Thank you for supporting this beautiful family.

SAGE’S STORY

From the moment she was still in the womb, Sage’s journey has been one of resilience, strength, and love. At just 18 weeks pregnant, her parents, Katelyn and Jay, received heartbreaking news—Sage’s kidneys weren’t developing properly. With no clear answers, only an overwhelming number of unknowns, they braced themselves for a future filled with uncertainty.

Transferred to the experts at Boston Children’s Hospital, they soon learned Sage had severe kidney disease and complications with her bladder—conditions so rare they occur in only about 1% of cases. The hope was to keep her growing safely until at least 36 weeks, but at 37 weeks, Sage gave them a scare by stopping her movements during an ultrasound. That night, doctors induced labor, and by the next morning, their beautiful, strong baby girl had arrived.

Katelyn barely had 30 minutes to hold her before Sage was rushed to the NICU for urgent care. Tests confirmed their worst fears, and surgery was planned for just four days old. But Sage had other plans—proving she was stronger than anyone could have imagined, she fought so hard that doctors decided to wait until she was a month old.

Sage has since had a few more surgeries and hospitalizations due to urinary tract infections. All of which she has fought through with her amazing smile and strong personality.

Now, after her most recent major surgery, Sage continues to defy the odds. The road ahead is long, with more surgeries, appointments, and challenges, but one thing is certain—this little warrior is destined for great things. She has already taught her family so much about strength, perseverance, and unconditional love.

While Katelyn and Jay focus on Sage’s fight, we have the opportunity to support them. Whether through prayers, kind words, or easing their financial burden during this difficult time, every bit of love makes a difference. Let’s rally behind them and show them they are never alone. Sage has chosen incredible parents, and together, they will overcome every obstacle in their path.

Please send your prayers, love, and positive energy to sweet Sage and her family.
