Join Roy's Battle for Recovery

** UPDATE **

Roy was in Houston, Texas, on April 10th, where he underwent additional testing and imaging. Although the news was not what he had hoped for, he now has a clearer understanding of the battle ahead. The Cancer Center in Texas has developed a treatment regimen that will be followed at The James. He has an appointment in Columbus on April 16th to begin his treatment and will return to Houston on May 21st for a follow-up appointment. He has been overwhelmed with the amount of support that you have given his family and I hope we can continue to show him the love and support that he needs.

My brother-in-law Roy has been battling serious health issues for the past two years, including breathing difficulties and diabetes. Despite numerous hospital visits, doctors couldn’t find the root cause—until now.

On March 25, 2025, a CT scan revealed five broken ribs caused by long-term steroid use, along with a mass in his pancreas that has spread to his liver. The next day, an MRI confirmed the devastating news: Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He underwent a biopsy on March 31, and we are now waiting for results, hoping he can travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for treatment.

Anyone who knows Roy knows his incredible willingness to help others, no matter the task—big or small. He is a thoughtful and caring friend, father, husband, and coworker who has dedicated 30 years to the Corrections Reception Center and recently started working for the Attorney General’s Office. He’s always worked hard for what he has and has never been one to ask for help. But now, he needs us.

With Roy unable to work, his family—including his son Levi and stepsons Lynden and Nickolas, along with his little girl, Jocelyn—faces immense financial challenges. Any donation, big or small, will help with medical expenses, travel costs, and daily necessities. If you can’t donate, please share this post to spread the word.

If you’d like to send financial assistance, gifts, or other support, please message Roy, Elisha, or me for an address.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers. Let’s rally around Roy in his fight.
