13 month old Rossi was diagnosed with an L1 neuroblastoma August 1, 2024 and had a total mass resection on August 20,2024 And her doctors were very hopeful all she would need to do is routine mri scans every 3 months till she was 5. In November we had her normal routine mri and got the heartbreaking news it was back and now measuring bigger and wrapping around her vertebral artery. December 13, 2024 we did another MIBG scan and CT scan and they found a nodule on her right lung that didn’t look too concerning on the CT scan but once they went in for surgery to place her port for chemotherapy and take biopsy of the primary tumor the lung nodule looked very concerning because it was coming from her chest wall where her original tumor was and attaching to the outer lining of her right and lung. The biopsy for the lung nodule unfortunately came back as metastatic neuroblastoma and now moves her to a higher risk of this cancer. We are still very hopeful her genetics and biology on this tumor will come back MYCN negative and she won’t be in the high risk category and that her bone marrow will come back negative as well. We will start chemo December 27th in salt lake at primary children’s and will be away from work, our home, and our 3 year old twin daughters for all her treatments we are over 5 hours away from home during her treatments so anything you can do to help Rossi in this journey is so appreciated and please keep praying for her to stay strong and healthy through all of this.
