Rose’s son, Daniel, was playing basketball when his coach asked him to pick up another player using the coaches motorcycle. That’s when this young boy had a terrible wreck, suffering a traumatic head injury that required emergency brain surgery.

The doctors gave Daniel only a 4% chance of surviving the surgery. But against all odds, he made it. Then, they warned he might never wake up. But Daniel defied those odds too—he is awake.

Now, Daniel needs rehabilitation therapy twice a week to regain his strength and mobility. The medical bills are overwhelming, and Rose has made the heartbreaking decision to return to the U.S. to work so she can pay for his care. She’s doing everything she can, but she can’t do it alone.
