Please consider helping us to continue Roo’s Mucopolysaccharidosis battle. Who knew that a little blue-eyed disabled kitten could bring so much light and love into this world?! Roo continues to fight this terrible disease and finds joy and comfort in the simplest of things like chin rubs, cuddling, soft blankets, good food, and a warm bed. We are so grateful he is still here with us and thriving. This has been a year of miracles for Roo. Twice he’s been rushed to the vet and twice he has overcome new obstacles and has adapted to some new challenges (manual bladder expression being one of those). I’m in awe of this little cat’s ability to roll with the punches and to adapt to his new circumstances… all with patience and joy. He’s now on prescription food for his kidneys and 2 new medications for his bladder and joint comfort. All three are incredibly pricey and along with his needs of potty pads, diapers, wipes, and other needed supplements for his digestive and joint health… we need your help more than ever to continue the level of care he requires to continue thriving. Roo has a vet appointment for next month to check his levels and to renew his prescriptions. We will be making sure his new diet and meds are working and adjustments will be made if needed. Cats with MPS have unbearably short life spans (oldest known is 7 yrs)… most don’t live to see their 2nd birthday. Somehow this boy continues to surprise us all and has made it to SIX!!! No one is promised a tomorrow, and we don’t know how much longer we have with Roo, but we do know we want him to know nothing but love and comfort. If you can, please help us to continue doing what we can for him. We’ve come this far only because of those who have graciously helped through the years and we appreciate your love and support more than we could ever fully express.
