Hello to all, my name is Jaelynn, and I am William's stepdaughter, but he truly has been a father to me since I was seven years old. On January 6th around 5:00 pm, my stepfather, William Richmond (Gusto), was involved in an accident with a vehicle while riding home from work on his motorcycle. William and his coworker, Sebastian, were riding home together when a vehicle made an illegal U-turn and abruptly stopped in the lane William and Sebastian were driving in. They both hit the vehicle head-on at 55 mph. William and Sebastian were both thrown and lost consciousness over 200 feet from where they connected with the vehicle.
William has an epidural hemorrhage, temporal bone fracture, right orbital fracture, cheekbone fracture, multiple breaks throughout his leg, a punctured lung, missing teeth, and many other complications/lacerations throughout his body. There is a possibility that William will fall into a DAI state and may never recover.
William headed into surgery on January 6th around 9 pm to remove part of his skull to relieve swelling in his brain, with no guarantee of survival. By the grace of God, an amazing team of neurosurgeons removed one of the largest blood clots they've seen in 21 years of practice. This is nowhere near the end, but this is a step to William's recovery.
William is a husband, father, grandfather among other things, and is known to go out of his way for others. My mother and he have faced many challenges, with this being the largest of all. There is no guarantee of William's survival, and we pray continuously for his recovery. My mother, Rochel Johnson, is at an absolute halt, with the fear of losing her life partner and best friend.
William will have legal bills, hospital bills, and everyday home bills, that unfortunately will not stop for this dire situation. My mother cannot afford to sustain a living on one income, and I can only do so much with the small amount I make. It'll be a long road, and anything will help. I know money is tight for many people, so we would also appreciate prayers if you're unable to contribute financially.
We want to thank everyone who has checked in on William and has prayed for his recovery. It's a long journey, but we will never stop fighting for William. Please remember to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle, and please be cautious of your two-wheeled friends on the road. Thank you.
